ETHNOGENERATION (The Chances of the Second Generation in Families of
Ethnic Entrepreneurs: Intergenerational and Gender Aspects of Quality of
Life Processes) is a 3-year research project supported by DG-Research
with a community contribution of 710.000 €. The project brought
together research teams from Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, and the
UK.
Key conclusions from this research (and their policy implications) will
be discussed with policy makers at the project's final confernece in
Brussels on 14 November 2005. Attached you will find an invitation
letter from the coordinator, the programme of the conference, and a
Briefing Paper summarising key conclusions emerging from this research.
ETHNOGENERATION studied ways to improve the quality of work, ways to
establish a balanced combination of working and private life, as well as
the well-being of the younger generation, especially in families of
ethnic entrepreneurs. It cuts across issues of family, children,
migration, employment, gender, social policy, youth and education.
Both DG-Research and the research teams involved in this project attach
great importance to this conference and hope to count on your
participation. We also count on your help to disseminate this
information/invitation within your services and to the networks you are
working with which have an interest in the subject.
