As a platform for critical Medi terranean thought with Albert Camus as a beacon\, we propose to address ho w the life and work of the French-Algerian writer with Menorcan roots have inspired contemporary creators from the Spanish-speaking and German-speak ing world. This would be a way of reflecting on the imprint of Albert Camu s' legacy in our country\, as well as in Germany\, but also on the functio n of creation and the role of fiction in our contemporary societies.\n«To create is to live twice»Myth of Sisyphus\, 1942\nAs an artist by vocatio n\, Albert Camus considered that he exercised the craft of writing\, a dem anding and absorbing craft that placed him in a perpetual tension in relat ion to the others and to his time\, to whom he felt responsible. He loved the craft of writing\, even though he often doubted his talent and was oft en dissatisfied with what he wrote. But creation is\, according to him\, o ne of the pinnacles of freedom and human rebellion. In this meeting we wou ld like to make room for writers\, thinkers\, artists who have been influe nced by the life and work of Albert Camus. Some of them simply have Camus as a reference\, others have used his work to construct their own fictions \, while others have incarnated his characters.\n \nPRELIMINARY PROGRAMME \n19.00 – 19.30 h Presentation\nPresentation of the objectives and conte nt of the Trobades & Premis Mediterranis Albert Camus and the programme.\n 19.30 – 21.00 h Conference and conversation\nConference offered by Brigi tte Sändig (1944\, Germany) Specialist of CamusIn German (20- 25 minutes max)\nConversation between:\nAlfonso Armada (1958\, Spain) journalist and editor of FronteraD and Berta Vias Mahou (1961\, Spain) WriterIn Spanish ( 20 minutes each + conversation and questions with the public)\n--\nDie Ver anstaltung auf Spanisch und Deutsch wird simultan übersetzt und kann sowo hl persönlich als auch online (via ZOOM-Videokonferenz) besucht werden.\n Wenn Sie teilnehmen möchten\, schreiben Sie bitte an anmeldung@ifs.uni-fr und teilen uns mit\, ob Sie in Präsenz (begrenzte Anzahl von P lätzen) oder (mit Interaktionsmöglichkeit) online teilnehmen möchten.\n YouTube-Livestream:\n \n--\nThe event in Spa nish and German will be simultaneously translated and can be attended both in person and online (via ZOOM video conference).\nIf you would like to a ttend\, please write to and let us know whe ther you would like to attend in presence (limited number of places) or (w ith the possibility of interaction) online.\nYouTube livestream: https://y\n \n--\nEl acto en Español y Alemán contará con in terpretación simultánea y se podrá asistir tanto de forma presencial co mo en línea (mediante videoconferencia ZOOM).\nSi desea asistir\, escríb anos a e indíquenos si desea asistir de fo rma presencial (número limitado de plazas) o (con la posibilidad de inter actuar) en línea.\nTransmisión en directo en YouTube: K8euKnZSRk URL: camusian-evening.html DTSTART:20220927T190000 DTEND:20220927T190000 LOCATION:Institut für Sozialforschung END:VEVENT BEGIN:VTIMEZONE TZID:Europe/Berlin BEGIN:DAYLIGHT DTSTART:20220927T190000 TZNAME:CEST TZOFFSETTO:+0200 TZOFFSETFROM:+0200 END:DAYLIGHT END:VTIMEZONE END:VCALENDAR
