Ana Santamarina
Critical Urban Theory, Antifascism, Migration, Housing Studies
Ana Santamarina is a postdoctoral researcher at the Critical Urban Studies Group, School of Political Science and Sociology, Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED), Spain. She holds a PhD in Human Geography from the University of Glasgow (2022), where she also completed an MRes in Human Geography (2018). She previously studied Political Science and Law at the Complutense University of Madrid (2011-2017). She is currently PI of LOGCOMMONS – The Logistical Geographies of Urban Commons and a member of the research team of MCSE-NOMADIC – Nomad Movements and Digital Impacts in Cities. She has been a visiting postdoctoral scholar at the Instituto Gino Germani, Universidad de Buenos Aires, and Sapienza Università di Roma. Her research develops across several lines, including urban space, migration and social reproduction, with particular attention to platform-mediated labour and care work, as well as the spatial politics of the far right, housing struggles and antifascism.
